Grenada is an island country located in the Caribbean Sea. It constitutes part of the Windward Islands. The flag of Grenada was adopted in 1874. It consists of a rectangle crossed by two diagonal lines so that they divide it into 4 triangles: 2 green ones and 2 yellow ones. The rectangle is placed on the red background so that it looks like a solid border of this geometric shape. In the hoist there is a depiction of a clove of nutmeg; the center of the flag is ornamented with a yellow star enclosed in a red circle. There are also 6 more stars below and over the rectangle that stands for Grenada's six parishes.
